HIGHLY ABRASION-RESISTANT

DURACLAD Consists of a highly abrasion-resistant chromium carbide microstructure layer is bonded to a mild steel base plate.

The manufacturing of DURACLAD wear plate features a unique direct cooling process to control the carbide orientation, distribution and morphology. The result of this process significantly improved the war properties, resulting in less down time and lower maintenance costs.

DURACLAD is a Chromium Carbide Overlay Plate made up of a low-carbon steel base plate and wear resistant layer. Consisting of a Martensitic matrix with up to 60% Chrome Carbides bonded metallurgically to a mild steel substrate.

DURACLAD plate has a high degree of hardness and achieves a hardness of 55-61 (HRc) depending on the wear layer thickness. The plate’s increased hardness gives it superior resistance to wear and impact.

DURACLAD is available in various thicknesses ranging from 6mm to 20mm and can be cut or formed into almost any shape. The deposit thickness of the overlay is determined by the work piece mass. Typical sizes are 3+3, 4+6 (i.e 4mm base metal place +6mm wear resistant layer) 6+6, 7+8 and 10+10.
